Dr.ª Carol Gouveia e Melo (PhD), graduated in Psychology (UK), postgraduate in Person Centred Counseling (ISPA, PT), PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences (UK). Has been practising psychotherapy for the past 14 years, giving individual consultations, couple and group therapies.
Has extensive experience in the follow-up of people with long-term, incurable and progressive illness, in mourning, and of teaching and following/supervising health professionals caring for end-of-life patients. Dr.ª Carol is a university professor in the area of the relationship of Health & Palliative Care and is head director of AMARA — Associação pela Dignidade na Vida e na Morte (Association for Dignity in Life and Death).
Dr.ª Carol Gouveia e Melo is fluent is English, Portuguese and French. She is also a full member of the British Psychological Society, the Portuguese Psychological Association and the Portuguese Society for Client-Centred Psychotherapy and Person Centred Approach.
